Apostle Johnson Suleman’s convoy was reportedly attacked on his way to Edo state leaving some of his assistants dead.

According to reports, seven people were killed when the gunmen opened fire on the convoy of Omega Fire Ministries International General Overseer, Apostle Johnson Suleman.

The sources also stated that Suleman was on his way to the headquarters of his church when he was attacked on Friday, October 21, at Water Tanker Junction, Warrake road in Auchi, Edo state, Nigeria.

According to The Punch, three police officers and four unidentified people were killed during the gun attack on the cleric’s convoy on Friday.

Apostle Suleman’s lawyer, Samuel Amune, confirmed the incident, saying the man of God had just returned from a program in Tanzania and had narrowly avoided death.

“He was returning from a journey and he had almost on the shores of Auchi when some assassins attacked him. Three of his police orderlies, among others died. He travelled before and just finished a program in Tanzania.

“He was returning to Auchi when the gunmen attacked him along Sabingida down to Warake area, and Auchi shares direct boundary with Warake. So, he had passed Warake and was entering the boundaries of Auchi when the attack happened.”

Meanwhile, a bullet-riddled SUV was seen in a video of the incident, with a male voice saying, “Direct shooting,” and a woman responding, “Jesus, thank you.”

When contacted by The Punch, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Chuidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the attack, stating that six people were killed, including police officers and Suleman’s driver, and that a domestic staff member is still missing. He also said that one of the assailants was killed.
