Suleiman is elected as speaker and Dahiru as deputy by the Bauchi parliament, Suleiman has previously served as speaker of the disbanded 9th Assembly.
The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Sulaiman, has been chosen to serve another term.

Suleiman served as speaker of the state’s recently disbanded 9th Assembly while representing the Ningi State constituency.
Deputy Speaker Jamilu Umaru Dahiru, who represents the Bauchi Central State Constituency, was also chosen. After being nominated, the two were elected without any opposition.
They took the oath of office and the oath of allegiance immediately following their election process, which was presided over by the clerk of the House, Barrister Umar Yusuf Gital.
Tuesday’s opening ceremony of the 9th Assembly was held on the House Assembly floor, and the speaker promised his colleagues that he would uphold their confidence in him.
No member will receive special treatment; we are all treated equally, and the State is our constituency, the speaker reaffirmed.
The speaker thanked his colleagues for giving him another chance to lead the assembly and praised the new Deputy Speaker, Hon. Jamilu Umaru Dahiru, for being an honest, responsible, straightforward, and devoted member.
Sulaiman promised to keep making Ningi Central’s constituency even better while expressing his gratitude to his constituents for voting him again as their representative.
The entire citizenry stands to gain from our acts or inactions. Adoption of proper laws, resolutions, and assembly monitoring duties, he argued, are essential to good governance.
In his remarks, Speaker Sulaiman noted that government policies. Speaker Sulaiman made the point that the proper enactment of laws by the Legislature facilitates and advances government objectives and programs.
He claimed that the best way for citizens to maintain their faith and confidence in the government is through legislative functions.
Speaker Sulaiman emphasized his willingness to collaborate, exchange ideas, and communicate with each and every member of the assembly as well as accept constructive criticism, advice, opinion, or proposal in order to advance the interests of the Bauchi State.

He also committed to continue to be open, transparent, and reachable at all times.
In the last four years of running the affairs of the state, he praised the Governor for creating a strong foundation for the growth of Bauchi state.
