Amaechi does not deserve Rivers place on the ministerial list, APC chieftain sparks. He explained there is no justification to give a ministerial appointment to someone who doesn’t support APC.
Tony Okocha, a Rivers State APC leader, has said President Bola Tinubu has no reason to give the state’s ministerial slot to either former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi or Senator Magnus Abe, pointing out that both men undermined his election in Rivers State.

Rather, Okocha asked Tinubu to appoint Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as a minister from the state.
According to him, Wike financially and materially sponsored Tinubu’s presidential ambition.
Okocha, who spoke with journalists in Abuja, claimed that Amaechi worked for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, but Abe, who won the governorship ticket, of the Social Democratic Party supported the SDP flag bearer.
Even relocating Wike to Rivers State reduces and short-circuits his influence. If the G-5 governors had remained with the PDP, the party would have triumphed.
“If Wike, who was in the PDP, could support the APC to win, why is it that the APC, having won, cannot also recompense the man who helped us win?” Okocha remarked.
When approached, the Rivers APC Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, who is loyal to Amaechi, told Okocha that he had no right to speak for the Rivers APC.
