Logitech, a leading accessory giant, has made a significant acquisition by purchasing Helsinki-based company, Loupedeck.
The announcement came on Tuesday, about 24 hours after a competitor, Corsair acquired Drop, a mechanical keyboard maker.

Loupedeck is a manufacturer of editing consoles for creative professionals.
The transaction amount have not been disclosed, but the move is part of Logitech’s strategy to expand its appeal to creative pros and enhance its software capabilities.
Loupedeck is renowned for its notable competition against Stream Deck, a product currently under the Corsair portfolio, which acquired the Elgato brand in 2018.
Both Loupedeck and Logitech share a passion for empowering streamers, creators, and gamers, and this acquisition aims to eliminate barriers and provide unlimited creative possibilities.
Logitech’s General Manager, Ujesh Desai, expressed the company’s dedication to enabling keyboards, mice, and other peripherals to become smarter and contextually aware.
He said: “Empowering streamers, creators and gamers is a joint passion of Loupedeck and Logitech.
“Together we are focused on removing all barriers so they can create, edit and stream without limits,” he continued.
“This acquisition augments Logitech’s product portfolio today and accelerates our software ambitions of enabling keyboards, mice and more to become smarter and contextually aware, creating a better experience for audiences across Logitech.”
Logitech G, the company’s gaming portfolio, already includes renowned products such as Yeti microphones, formerly produced by Blue, which Logitech acquired in 2018.
Recently, Logitech dropped the Blue branding to streamline its products under the unified Logitech brand.
A similar fate may await the Loupedeck name, although the company has stated that Loupedeck will continue operating normally in the foreseeable future.
Loupedeck was founded in 2016 by former employees of Nokia/Microsoft, which explains its Helsinki base.
The company gained recognition through a successful Indiegogo campaign in the same year, raising $411,000 for its Adobe Lightroom editing console, nearly five times its initial goal.
Currently, Loupedeck offers four high-end editing consoles, ranging in price from $189 to $559.
This acquisition of Loupedeck could complement Logitech’s 2019 acquisition of Streamlabs, a livestreaming software developer.
By bringing together Loupedeck’s consoles and Streamlabs’ software, Logitech aims to offer a comprehensive solution to content creators.
