The main events from Tuesday’s sessions are as follows; Clarita Ogar, a witness called by the LP to testify in the case brought against President Bola Tinubu, claimed she was not dispatched to speak on behalf of Amazon Web Services Inc., a company that INEC hired to offer technological assistance during the general election.
INEC claimed that technical difficulties connected to scaling up the electoral system prevented it from uploading election results to IReV in real-time.
However, Ogar, a cloud engineer and architect, said in her main testimony that the AWS cloud did not record any technical problems on February 25 in the nation.
Tuesday, Ogar acknowledged that she was providing testimony as an expert witness while being cross-examined.
She also acknowledged that as of 2021, there had been over 27 outages on the AWS server.
In the general election of 2023, the witness ran for the House of Representatives in the Yala/Ogoja federal constituency under the LP.
Ogar has filed a lawsuit against INEC for leaving her name off of the final candidate list made public for the election.
After several claims that INEC was evading serving a subpoena issued by Obi and the LP, the commission at last answered.
The petitioners requested five documents, but only two of them were available, according to INEC deputy director Lawrence Bayode, who testified before the tribunal.
A deputy director of INEC named Moronkeji Tairu also provided some more documents that the petitioners had requested.
She added that some of the sought documents were nonexistent, while others needed to be acquired from all 36 states.
“The others are to be gotten across the states, and for logistics reasons it would take a while before we can get them,” she said.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atiku Abubakar, its presidential candidate, have said they will wrap up their case on Friday.
Despite the fact that they were meant to end on Tuesday, the tribunal granted an extension after Chris Uche, the petitioners’ attorney, made a case, the deadline was extended till Friday.
By the end of the week, all petitioners are anticipated to have concluded their cases.
