President Muhammadu Buhari has been accused of embarking on the multi-billion dollar railway project from Nigeria to the Republic of Niger, in the guise of leaving a legacy for his father’s clans.
SurgeZirc reports the former presidential aide cum author, Reno Omokri made the observations on his verified Instagram page on Thursday morning.
The Human Rights activist and book writer further said that the president is replicating his actions, pointing at how Buhari voted for a Nigerienne against a Nigerian, during an election to elect a new leader for the defunct Organisation for African Unity in 1985.
“The economy of Anambra is 2 times larger than the economy of Niger. Research it. Niger has a GDP of less than $15 billion. Yet, Amaechi and Buhari are building a $billion railway for them when Anambra hasn’t even smelt a railway. And you wonder why APC lost Anambra? It makes no economic sense for Nigeria to be building that railway.
“It is only being prioritised because Buhari wants to leave a legacy for his father’s people. The same way he voted for a Nigerienne against a Nigerian, during an election to elect a new leader for the defunct Organisation for African Unity in 1985,” he wrote.
In a related news, the author also gave reason President Muhammadu Buhari refuses to reopen the Nigeria-Benin Republic border.
According to him, “Buhari was trying to pressure the Benin Republic government to hand over Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Igboho to his administration”.
He said the claim by the Nigerian government that the border was closed to tackle smuggling of goods and weapons and to tackle the menace of banditry is a lie.

“Buhari claims he closed the Benin Republic-Nigeria border because of banditry.
“That is a lie from the mouth of Lai Mohammed. The real reason behind the closure is to pressure the Beninese government to hand over Igboho to him,” Omokri stated this in a tweet on Thursday.
