Wike also challenged Fubara to run the state without fear but with humility and excellent administration, saying Nigerians would be amazed by what Sim would accomplish in his first hundred days in office.

“If you stay here and work, you’ll be happy.” At the end of the day, Rivers people will appreciate you,” he added.

He also stated that Fubara, whom he described as humble and Godsent, has showed initiative with the project.

The former governor stated that Fubara has paid 75% of the total price of N150 billion to Julius Berger, and that while people may be concerned about the amount spent on the road, “no one can develop the state better than us.”

The former governor, Wike, stated that the Ring Road project should be led by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), however the commission is a Niger Delta cash cow.

He challenged the NDDC to take the ring road from the Borokiri axis to Okrika and terminate at Alesa Eleme if it is honest.

“We thank God Almighty for giving us someone who would not come like those, they have not entered power, and you can see their arrogance.”

“Mr. Governor, please be advised that the people who elected you are present in the state. They are not present in Abuja, so stay in your state and address your people’s challenges.”

“Don’t let them entice you into sleeping in Abuja because there’s one meeting after another that produces nothing.” Stay in your state and help it grow. They’re not going to give you anything there.

“Our money is not for the development of any political party, it is for the development of our state.”
