Yobe Government says it will deduct 10% of November basic salaries of its civil servants as their commitments to the current endeavors to resuscitate education in the state.
The Yobe State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information, and Culture, Alhaji Muhammad Lamin, made this known at a press meeting on Monday in Damaturu.

Lamin said that the choice was made to ginger move to restore the education sector which was left devastated by a very long-term insurrection.
He disclosed that the very long-term revolt had affected adversely on the whole of the populace, just as the educational framework and constructions in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni had on November 9, 2021, initiated a 21-part State Education Appeal Fund Raising Committee to activate assets to revive the education area.
He said, “apart from reaching out to people outside government, we feel that civil servants in the state should also give their modest contribution to the program, by contributing 10 percent of their November basic salary.
“By this briefing, therefore, civil servants are informed that the deduction will be for only the month of November 2021.
“In this regard, the government is appealing to civil servants in the state to heartily support the government in her bid to rescue our state from the catastrophe of educational decay”.

A State of Emergency has been declared in the Yobe education sector by the governor at the inception of the administration.
