Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP). Ajayi announced his resignation on Monday, August 10, 2020, in a Twitter post

His resignation came in less than a month after he lost the governorship ticket to the former commissioner for justice and attorney-general of the state, Eyitayo Jegede with 888 votes.

Recall that in June, the deputy governor resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the PDP shortly after leaving the ruling party in Ondo. Ajayi abandoned the party two days after the Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki left it for PDP, following his disagreement with the APC suspended national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.

While announcing his resignation, he expressed gratitude to the members of the party for welcoming him during his short stay.
