The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has called on the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, to avoid violence during the approaching governorship poll in the state.

The governor made the call in Akure during an inaugural ceremony of the Akeredolu/Aiyedatiwa Governorship Campaign Committees saddled with the obligation of ensuring that the APC wins the election. Reports disclosed that 14 different committees were inaugurated for the re-election bid of the governor.

Moreover, the Ondo Governor urged the members of the committees to shun any act that may violate the rights of any citizen. He further pleaded with them to reach out to the voters at the grassroots, adding that they need to put more effort in the hinterland. Akeredolu also advised the members of the party to win their respective wards as only then would they be recognized.

Meanwhile, the Ondo State Chairman, Mr Ade Adetimehin expressed gratitude to the party leaders for working together to build the strength of the party.

Additionally, other members also expressed their willingness to work for the party and ensure triumph at the forthcoming governorship election scheduled to take place on October 10.
