The leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have called on voters in the Edo state to stand by the party in the governorship election that will take place on Saturday, September 19.
The call was made on Tuesday by various leaders of the party during the PDP mega rally ahead of the poll. The State Chairman, Dr Tony Aziegbemi appealed to the supporters, to go out in large numbers and vote for the PDP candidate, Governor Godwin Obaseki on the election day. He assured that their votes would count and they should not be afraid to exercise their right.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Edo governorship campaign council and chairman of the PDP South South, Chief Dan Orbih noted that having gone round the 192 wards to campaign, the voice of the people was clear. He added that the people who came to Edo to join ‘one man’ to determine the fate of the Edo people should have reconsideration.
Orbih also added that as proven from the campaigns, the people of Edo had assured to vote and ensure that their votes count, adding that those talking about fabled should take not that the PDP and its candidate “have the support of God and the people”.

Similarly, a chieftain of the party, Chief Tom Ikimi said Edo has made its decision to make certain that the PDP and its candidate would be re-elected on Saturday. Pledging that victory in Edo Central would be 95 percent. He also noted that the Esan agenda was to support Obaseki’s re-election. The chieftain also advised them not to be afraid of their opponents.
On his part, the Edo North Senatorial District leader, Chief Raymond Dokpesi said it was unfortunate that a son from the district was working to disrupt the wheel of development in the state. He urged the people of the state to choose and remain with the candidate of the party for continuous development across the state.
