The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) said it has finalized plans to take President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) to the International Criminal Court of Justice over what it called the systematic annihilation of pro-Biafra agitators in Nigeria.
In a statement on Sunday signed by their National Director of Information, Camarada Edeson Samuel, MASSOB appealed to the United Nations, the African Union, the United States of America, the International G8 Nations (G8), and human rights organizations to intervene and protect the indigenous people of Biafra.
It claimed that the Nigerian government’s “atrocious acts” had resulted in the deaths, unlawful arrests, abductions, torture, and detention of hundreds of innocent Biafra agitators, including the leader of IPOB.
The group stated in a statement titled ‘Save Biafrans From Annihilation,’ “We wish to inform the people of Biafra that MASSOB has finalized plans through our legal team to sue Major General Mohammadu Buhari led Nigerian government at the International Criminal Court of Justice, Hague.”
It continued, “MASSOB warned that nothing harmful will ever happen to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Sunday Igboho and other Biafra/ Oduduwa freedom agitators that have been held, tortured, starved and denied medical attention.”
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, has also revealed that his client is being tortured by the Department of State Security DSS and that his health is rapidly deteriorating.
Kanu is scheduled to appear before an Abuja High Court on July 26 to face treason charges among others.
