In the early hours of today, suspected Fulani herdsmen invaded Warkan village in Kaduna State’s Zangon Kataf local government area, killing nine (9) people and injuring others (Friday).

The suspected Fulani herdsmen are said to have arrived in large numbers and stormed the village around 2 a.m., while everyone was sleeping.
According to a source, a large number of houses were demolished.
According to the source, the invaders injured many people, who are now being treated in an undisclosed hospital.
According to the source, “The entire village is in confusion; the destruction by the suspected Fulani herdsmen is unbelievable.
“As l am talking to you, security personnel have taken over the village trying to ensure confidence in the hearts of the people and to avert any further attack by the suspected herdsmen.”

When contacted to confirm the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said he was unaware of it but promised to get back to us.
