Konami is finally ready to reveal what’s next for the Silent Hill franchise, almost a decade to the day since the last Silent Hill game (excluding P.T.). The company will reveal the “latest updates” for the series during a live stream on October 19th at 5 PM ET.
The showcase was announced by the publisher in a tweet that included a link to a placeholder Silent Hill website. You should be able to watch the stream there.

It appears that at least one new game is in the works. According to Video Game Chronicle, composer Akira Yamaoka and art director Masahiro Ito shared information about the upcoming stream.
Both have previously hinted that a new Silent Hill game is in the works. Yamaoka also composed the score for Bloober Team’s The Medium; according to reports, the studio is working on a Silent Hill 2 remake after collaborating with Konami last year.

Other Silent Hill projects rumoured to be in the works include an episodic, narrative-driven series and a playable teaser a la P.T. in preparation for a new mainline game P.T. Silent Hills, a planned full game from Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, was an interactive teaser.
However, Konami cancelled Silent Hills in 2015, and Kojima abruptly left the publisher. Except for crossovers like Pyramid Head appearing in Dead by Daylight, the Silent Hill series has been dormant since.

Meanwhile, a third Silent Hill film could be on the way. Christophe Gans, who directed and co-wrote the first film in 2006, announced this year that he had finished writing a script for another film.
This month, Gans also hinted that Konami was working on several Silent Hill games. It appears that we will learn more about those very soon. Let’s hope Konami brings P.T. back.
