Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has stated that the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will fail to win the 2023 general election with the belief that the movement will not be able to sustain its present momentum.

Obaseki made the remarks during the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party’s Campaign Council’s inauguration in the state.
Obaseki who was one of the few sitting governors to notice the Obidients movement, and spoke out on why people should be worried about their demand to take back Nigeria in 2023 consoled himself and his party members by saying that Obi’s supporters, dubbed “Obidients,” would soon run out of steam.
The Governor who contested elections and won under the umbrella of the PDP also said that if the APC wins the presidential election in 2023, Nigeria will break.
“People who say they are Obidients, of course, they will be but they will run out of steam. We know how to manage elections, how many people have been able to do what we are doing?
“They can’t even form their campaign council not to talk about having a timetable for election, you get it.
“So, this election is ours to lose and the grace of God we will not lose it. We now need to quickly set up our own and then see how we can help other PDP states,” the governor said during his speech.
