Pastor Tunde Bakare, the overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, CGCC, envisions a new Nigeria after the upcoming general elections.
Bakare, who is also the convener of the Save Nigeria Group, SNG, stated this at the church headquarters in Lagos during his State of the Nation address, which also served as his New Year message.

Bakare paid tribute to the nation’s fallen heroes for making the ultimate sacrifice to ensure Nigeria’s unity.
He also praised the military officers on the ground for their valour in combating terrorism and other forms of criminality in the country.
The former presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, stated that Nigeria is facing difficult issues ahead of the upcoming elections.
According to him, the emergence of three major presidential candidates from the country’s three major ethnic nationalities demonstrates how God will shine His light in the midst of pervasive darkness to create a new Nigeria.
“The election is coming 30 years after the aborted June 12 elections and this will serve as a reminder of a generational change of some sort.
“God has come out in His full majesty to re-engineer Nigeria to a new one that people will be proud of once again. The time is up for divisive leaders who are preying on the country,” NAN quoted him.
The cleric, who mentioned the possibility of some politicians attempting to manipulate the upcoming elections, urged Nigerians to be wary of vote buying.
He did, however, express satisfaction that none of the presidential candidates has a military background, citing this as a benefit to the nation’s democracy.

Bakare urged Nigerians to vote based on their personalities rather than their emotions, noting that the difference between politics and governance was in the provision of services for the common good.
While praying for Nigeria’s good, he dubbed the upcoming general elections “Nigeria wins” polls.
