Some gang of armed criminals attacked a Celestial Church in Felele, Lokoja, Kogi State yesterday, Sunday, 16, October killing two people and injuring three others.
The incident occurred late Sunday evening behind the NNPC Mega station in Felele, according to reports.

According to an eyewitness, the gunmen stormed the church and began shooting sporadically without making any demand.
The shooting which is one among two many other attacks on places of worship left two persons dead instantly, three person sustained severe injuries, while others in the congregation fled the scene for their lives.
The injured victims of the senseless attack are currently being treated at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Lokoja.
An eyewitness who spoke to Daily Post said, “when they entered, they started shooting at every one outside the church. I now went and hid inside a cassava farm. What I saw yesterday was like an action film in a movie. Kogi is no longer safe”
According to the outlet, Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) William Ovye Aya confirmed the incident on Monday morning.
William said, hoodlums invaded the Church and started shooting at worshippers.
He said, “It was a distress call that the Divisional Police Officer of B Division Felele received that hoodlums invaded a Celestial Church behind NNPC mega station and they began shooting.
“Two people were confirmed dead in the hospital, while three are receiving treatment.

“The Commissioner of Police has deployed our operatives, and ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of investigation, to commence investigation to unravel the cause of the attack with a view to arrest the perpetuators.”
Indiscriminate killing of worshipers has become a norm in Nigeria, as it no longer attract much sympathy from Nigerians.
