Curtis James Jackson III, popularly known as 50 Cent said he is developing a television series based on the well-known Nigerian fraudster Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi who is currently jailed in the US.

Before 50 Cent, Universal Pictures, Will Packer Productions, and Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife acquired the rights in 2021 to the Bloomberg article “The Fall of the Billionaire Gucci Master” about Instagram influencer Hushpuppi.

However, Most Nigerians who reacted to the move expressed displeasure.

He was arrested on several counts of cybercrime and later extradited to the United States on money laundering and computer fraud charges.

According to court records provided by the US Department of Justice (DoJ), Hushpuppi entered a guilty plea in April 2021 to the US government’s allegations of multi-million dollar fraud.

In April 2021, ten months after his arrest, he pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy charges to commit money laundering. SurgeZirc Nigeria had previously reported that Hushpuppi was sentenced to 11 years in prison and was ordered to pay $1.7 million to two fraud victims by Judge Otis D. Wright II of a US court.
