Hon. Musa Markus Masoyi, a young politician in Bauchi State’s Bogoro LGA, was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen on Tuesday, November 21, 2022, and remains in captivity one week later.

According to reports, the gunmen stormed the secretariat of Boi, a village in Bogoro LGA of Bauchi State, in the middle of the night on the date and kidnapped the young man who was their main target.
The gunmen entered the village while everyone was sleeping and whisked the hostage away to an unknown destination, according to a village resident who did not want his name to be mentioned.
According to him, the victim and his elder brother were kidnapped and abandoned in the bush, where he was rescued by people and returned home.

Markus Masoyi actively participated in the recently concluded PDP mobilization rally to drum up support for the party in the 2023 general elections prior to his kidnapping.
