English Premier League side, Watford, had their Chairman publicly reject the use of neutral venues for matches in the Premier League’s proposed project restart plan.
Scott Duxbury, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Watford Football Club, said that the use of neutral venues would compromise fairness and sports integrity.

Furthermore, He said: “I agree that it is unacceptable to have supporters in the stadium on a matchday, but it is unfair to for them to say we cannot play our remaining home games at Vicarage road, being fully aware of familiarity and advantage that brings.”
While League Bosses, are also currently awaiting the government’s advice on the criteria for bio-security screenings at events, and ground-safety licensing which is expected to be rolled out later next week.
It was gathered that Premier League clubs are planning to cast votes at a meeting on Monday, May 11, 2020, on the use of neutral venues. If the votes are cast, 14 of the 20 clubs must be in favour of this proposal for it to be adopted.

Earlier this week, Premier League clubs, Brighton and Aston Villa also rejected the proposal to use a neutral venue, it is understood that some other clubs have similar intentions.
League Managers Association Chief Executive, Richard Bevan, said the Premier League Season could be called off if clubs do not agree to play at neutral venues.
The English Premier League has been suspended since March 13, 2020, but it is likely to resume in June with most teams having nine games left to play.
