Peter Obi has completed his presidential petition against Tinubu. The Labour Party candidate who believes that the February 25 presidential election was rigged in favor of President Bola Tinubu, concluded his legal case on Friday.
Obi, who finished third in the race, presented several papers and called 13 witnesses at the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja.

He provided evidence from polling locations across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja to the court.
The documents contained voting results as well as data of Permanent Voter Cards obtained prior to the 2023 general elections.
Four films were also supplied, one of which showed Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), promising real-time voting. A list of registered voters in each state was also included in the documents.
Despite Respondents’ challenges to the admission of the papers, the Labour Party stopped its case after the 13th witness testified, despite having planned to call a total of 50 witnesses.
Tanko Yunusa, the Labour Party Presidential Election Council’s 12th witness, reported voting in Abuja and witnessed the vote counting at his polling unit.
Yunusa expressed his discontent with the election results, claiming that INEC credited illegal votes to President Tinubu.
He was unable, however, to provide an accurate amount for the claimed illegally allocated votes, instead pointing to figures supplied by an expert witness.

After Yunusa’s testimony, the 13th Following Yunusa’s testimony, the 13th and last witness, Peter Emmanuel Yari, a Presiding Officer in Kaduna State during the presidential election, spoke regarding challenges with voter accreditation and BVAS machine uploading of results.
The final court hearing was postponed until July 3 after the Petitioners closed their case.
