Court upholds Senator Goje’s expulsion from the APC.The former Gombe Governor was suspended for refusing to attend APC presidential campaign events and other local campaign activities.
Senator Mohammed Danjuma Goje’s petition challenging his removal from the All Progressives Congress (APC) by the Kashere ward executive committee of the party has been dismissed by Justice Obiora Egwuatu of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Senator Goje was suspended and then fired in April of this year for refusing to engage in all levels of party events.
He was also accused of working against the party’s candidates in the state assembly, governorship, National Assembly, and presidential elections, as well as obvious disrespect and treachery towards the party leadership.
Senator Goje was fired as a result of the findings of an investigation committee formed by the APC Kashere ward executive committee.
The committee found the senator guilty on all charges and recommended that he be suspended and expelled from the APC immediately.
The Kashere Ward exco ratified the report, which was then endorsed by the Gombe State executive committee, as well as the executive committees of all 11 LGA chapters in Gombe State.
Senator Goje went to court after his suspension and expulsion to protest the party’s decision.
However, in his decision, Justice Egwuatu dismissed Senator Goje’s action on the basis that Goje’s claim of a lack of fair hearing is without merit because the committee gave Goje enough time to defend himself.
The court emphasised in its decision that Senator Goje was aware of the allegations against him because there was a newspaper publication providing him with the charges and the option to defend himself on a certain day, time, and venue.
The court also ruled that instead of defending himself, Senator Goje chose to skip the committee hearing.
As a result, the court dismissed the case for lack of merit.

The Gombe State APC executive committee praised the decision, calling it a vindication of party dominance and a statement of trust in party discipline.
“We urge Senator Goje to accept defeat and accept the consequences of his treachery and betrayal to the APC, the party that gave him the platform to become president,” it said.
