Nigerian music sensation, Skiibii, has shared the intriguing story of how he launched his career amidst the shocking pronouncement of his own death.
In August 2015, reports circulated that Skiibii had collapsed and passed away, creating a wave of disbelief and mourning among his fans.

Speaking about the circumstances surrounding the rumors, Skiibii revealed that he had been grappling with a medical condition that frequently caused him to lose consciousness.
In a viral internet interview, he recounted the challenges he faced during that time and how he not only survived the ordeal but also overcame the biting criticism from fellow artist Falz in one of his songs, as well as receiving heartfelt tributes from renowned musicians such as Davido and Wizkid.
“Perhaps many people have forgotten; I began my career with the news that Skiibii had died. Skiibii faked his death,” Skiibii shared candidly.
“At that time, I was dealing with an issue where I would suddenly black out. It happened to me twice before. Once, I collapsed on a flight to South Africa. I had gone to the restroom, and on my way back, I fell unconscious.
The incident led to the plane being temporarily grounded as they attended to me before we could proceed with the journey.
“The second incident occurred at Kaycee’s house. On my way out, I collapsed, and as people witnessed me being rushed into the vehicle, the news of my death began to spread like wildfire,” Skiibii explained.
Recalling the aftermath, Skiibii said, “When I finally regained consciousness and opened my phone at the hospital, I was shocked to see posts from Wizkid, Davido, and others mourning my supposed demise. They had posted rest-in-peace messages on their social media pages.”

Skiibii went on to reveal that he had to seek medical treatment in the United States following the incident. Additionally, he discovered that there were certain foods he could no longer consume due to his condition.
“Now there are certain things I can’t take, like pineapple, lime, and others,” Skibii added.
