Inter Milan has officially announced that Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij has extended his contract with the club until the end of June 2025.
The 31-year-old Dutch international has decided to continue his adventure at Inter and forego the possibility of leaving on a free transfer.

De Vrij initially joined the club in 2018 from Lazio when his contract with the Biancocelesti expired.
His previous contract with Inter ran out at the end of last month, which would have allowed him to negotiate with other clubs.
Villarreal, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Leicester City, and Marseille were among the teams linked with a potential move for the Dutchman.
However, de Vrij has chosen to reject those offers and has instead signed a new two-year deal with Inter. His new contract will keep him at the club until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
Since joining Inter in 2018, de Vrij has made 203 appearances for the club and scored nine goals.
Despite facing competition for a starting position last season, de Vrij remained a reliable figure in Inter’s defense.
With the arrival of Francesco Acerbi from Lazio, de Vrij adapted to a backup role.
Nonetheless, he has played a vital part in Inter’s recent success, helping the team win the Serie A title in the 2020-2021 season, as well as the Supercoppa Italiana and Coppa Italia in the past two seasons.
