Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah may find himself caught in another club vs. country conflict as Egypt considers including him in their squad for the Olympics next summer.
Salah is already set to miss games in January and February due to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which takes place during the Premier League season.

Egypt is hosting AFCON, and Salah hopes to secure a victory after finishing as the runners-up in 2017 and 2021.
However, Liverpool could face another absence from their star player just months later.
With Paris hosting the Olympics, Egypt is exploring the possibility of including Salah as one of their overaged players in the squad.
The dates of the Olympic games would result in any participating player missing parts of pre-season and the early matches of the 2024/25 season.
Rogerio Micale, who will lead the Egyptian team, expressed his interest in Salah’s involvement, stating, “Salah is as significant as Neymar in Brazil.
“We still have one year to think about the matter and evaluate the situation, but for sure we welcome Salah.”
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has previously voiced his concerns about international breaks and their impact on his players, who already endure a demanding club schedule.
Klopp’s comments during the last AFCON led to criticism, with a reporter demanding an apology.
Salah’s form was affected following the final of the tournament, where his Egypt side lost to Sadio Mane’s Senegal.
Klopp acknowledged Salah’s disappointment upon his return to Anfield, highlighting the challenging nature of losing a final.
