During her interview, Phyna candidly expressed, “Growing up wasn’t easy for me. I was raised by my aunt, my father’s elder sister in Auchi. She owned a restaurant, and that’s where I spent my early years.

Imagine a young girl working in a restaurant from such a tender age. At three, I was already serving men. But then, my dad had an accident, and I had to be with him in the hospital.

I had just completed JSS3 at the time. That hiatus caused me to miss out on SS1 and SS2.”

After returning to school, Phyna faced a daunting challenge as she was advised to repeat SS1. However, her determination to catch up with her peers led her to request joining SS3 instead.

Undeterred, she underwent a series of examinations and successfully passed. Despite the hurdles, Phyna’s parents believed that pursuing further education would be an insurmountable task, and instead, encouraged her to learn a vocational skill.

It was then that she realized the importance of hustling and carving her own path to success.

Phyna shared more about her early ventures into entrepreneurship, stating, “I attended a federal school, and the tuition fee was N14,500 at that time. That’s when my hustle truly began.

I started making meat pies, buns, and I even became the class representative. Additionally, I learned hairstyling and saved as little as N50. We attended events, danced, and earned money, which we shared amongst ourselves.”

Following her graduation, Phyna pursued her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program while juggling part-time jobs. It was during this period that she discovered her passion for hyping.

Inspired by a hypeman at a club, she realized she had the ability to captivate audiences just like him. This revelation marked the beginning of her journey into the entertainment industry.

Even after her triumphant stint in the Big Brother House, Phyna’s relentless work ethic continued to impress those around her.

Phyna reflected on her hustle, sharing an anecdote about her friends’ astonishment at her unwavering dedication. “Even after winning Big Brother Naija, some of my friends would remark, ‘Phyna, the way you hustle, it’s as if you didn’t win any money at all.’ I would simply respond, ‘Money has a way of dwindling.'”
