This statement is according to the head of Britain’s MI6, who gave the first confirmation from Western intelligence in a rare speech in Prague that the leader of private military group Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, did indeed strike a deal with Putin to end his advance on Moscow.
The Mi6 chief, known as C, was likewise perplexed by the tremors that shook the Kremlin that weekend, as well as the quickness with which allegiance were returned.
“If you look at Putin’s actions that day, Prigozhin started off as a traitor at breakfast,” Richard Moore stated.
“He’d been pardoned by supper, and then he was invited to tea a few days later.”

“He didn’t really fight back against Prigozhin,” Moore added. “He cut a deal to save his skin, using the good offices of the leader of Belarus,” he claimed, alluding to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s participation in striking the arrangement.
“I can’t even see inside Putin’s head,” he added. “He must have realised, I am sure, that Wagner had planned something deeply rotten in the state of Denmark, and he had to come out and cut this deal.”
