IGP has made a statement on the deployment of police officers to tackle terrorist group in Plateau State, following the recent attack on communities.
The acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has proceeded on a key duty visit by convoy patrol to assess and address the state’s current security concerns and meet with fighting parties.

During the duty tour to Plateau State, the IGP met with the governor of Plateau State, Caleb Muftwang, in the State House, where they extensively discussed the state’s security situation, analysing its complexities and exploring strategic solutions.
Following the meeting, the IGP proceeded to conduct a gathering with the Plateau stakeholders forum at the Police Officers Mess in Jos, offering a chance for extensive deliberations, according to Force spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
Cooperation and collaboration among key stakeholders to address the region’s current security issues and create long-term peace and stability.
Similarly, the IGP travelled to the state’s Mangu local government area, the epicentre of the immediate security problem, where he actively engaged with local residents and police operatives on the ground to corroborate intelligence collected on the situation.

The engagement provided a forum for open discourse, allowing the IGP to assess the current state of affairs, collect useful insights, and reaffirm the Police’s commitment to resolving the security problems confronting the people of Mangu and restoring peace and order in the area.
The inspector-general of police emphasised the importance of improved preventive deployments, effective intelligence gathering, and community engagement to proactively address the security concerns in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
