It has been confirmed that the tests for the Coronavirus recently carried out on all EPL players and staff returned a total of six positive results across three clubs.
The results were announced after The English Premier League conducted 748 tests between Sunday, May 17, and Monday, May 18, 2020.
The individuals who tested positive have been ordered to self-isolate for one week.
The statement released by the EPL read: “The Premier League can today confirm that, on Sunday, May 17 and Monday, May 18, 748 players and club staffs underwent tests for COVID-19.”
“Of these, six individuals tested positive from three clubs. Players or club staffs who have tested positive will now self-isolate for seven days.”
“The Premier League is providing this information for the purposes of the competition integrity and oversight. No specific details on the clubs or individuals will be provided due to legal and operational requirements,” it read.
It can be recalled that the decision to suspend the EPL was taken after Arsenal’s Head Coach, Mikel Arteta, and Chelsea Winger, Callum Hudson-Odoi was diagnosed with COVID-19.
