The operation was prompted by credible intelligence reports indicating that the terrorists were planning an attack and cattle rustling in the region.

Acting on this information, the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji launched targeted strikes on the terrorists’ gathering point at Tsamre in Birnin Magaji LGA.

The air strikes were carried out in successive passes, leading to the elimination of many terrorists and the destruction of their structures and enclave.

Additionally, similar air strikes were conducted in Hanawanka in Shiroro LGA and Palele, a village on the borders of Shiroro and Munya LGAs of Niger State.

These raids were in response to intelligence reports indicating the migration of terrorists from Katsina and Zamfara states to Niger.

The terrorists were under pressure from military operations in those states, necessitating their move to new hideouts.

In the North-East, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai also conducted air strikes on a terrorists’ hideout located east of Arra in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State on July 25.

Arra was once a well-known terrorists’ hideout near Sambisa Forest, which had been cleared by the Land Component of Operation Hadin Kai.

The intelligence-driven strikes were the result of careful observation of the location, revealing suspected terrorists armed with various firearms and using vegetation to conceal their motorcycles and trucks.

The air strikes led to the neutralization of several terrorists and the destruction of their weapons, equipment, and structures.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Nigerian Air Force Spokesperson, confirmed the operations but declined to provide further details regarding the operations.

The successful raids on terrorist hideouts demonstrate the effectiveness of the military’s intelligence-driven approach in combating terrorism and protecting the region from further attacks.
