Tinubu On Presidential Bid: "I’m Ready To Fight Dirty"

Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stated that he is willing to fight dirty in his bid to become Nigeria’s president.

Tinubu made the remarks while visiting Lekan Balogun, the Olubadan designate, at his home in Alarere, Ibadan, on Sunday. According to NAN, Tinubu paid a visit to Balogun to seek his blessing and the support of the people of Ibadan for his presidential campaign.

The presidential candidate expressed his readiness and determination to succeed, saying that no amount of intimidation or blackmail will deter him from pursuing his presidential ambitions.

According to him, this period is “historical and a reminder of history”. “Each time a Yoruba wants to be president, issues are raised, questions are asked and all sorts of hang-ups are encountered,” Tinubu said.

“We are at a crossroad. People are volunteering to confront me when they were asked who would confront the Lion of Bourdillon. I’m out to become the president of Nigeria. No intimidation, no blackmail can stop me.

Balogun, speaking through his brother Kola, stated that the current situation in the country necessitates the election of a leader who will strengthen the country’s unity. The Olubadan designate stated that he had known Tinubu for a long time and referred to him as the governor who laid the groundwork for the current Lagos.

“Yorubas are the leading light of Nigeria, our people contributed a lot to make Nigeria what it is and without the Yorubas, Nigeria cannot be where it is today,” Balogun said.

“But, it is very sad to note the ‘to your tent oh Israel’ that has of recent become the song of the people. We are looking forward to a Yoruba president that will further strengthen and unite the country come 2023.

“We need a leader that has national focus and acceptability. The road may be rough, but, by God’s grace, you will triumph.”

Well, I am keen on reading such articles and I always compare with other top authors. Strange as it may seem, but you’ll find a really extraordinary opinion on this point on compacom.com. I don’t know which one is true. Read it yourself and make up your mind which side to take.
