Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s illness has caused problems in the state government, and the acting governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has spoken out about these concerns.

On Tuesday, Mr. Aiyedatiwa was named acting governor after the House of Assembly officially acknowledged receiving a communication from the governor asking his deputy to fill the position.
State officials claim that Mr. Akeredolu is traveling abroad to rest and take care of his health.
But in a statement on Wednesday, Mr. Aiyedatiwa claimed that rumors
Conflicts within the state executive council were not true as reported by rumors.
He claimed to have taken note of locals’ worries about state governance as well as the rumors and insinuations going about.
The acting governor declared, “Let me say without equivocation that rumors about the disruption of government activities are misplaced and only arose as a result of impatience and a lack of adequate understanding of how the government machinery works.”
“In any case, such misrepresentations and seemingly pointless allusions are to be expected when political gladiators attempt to stoke the polity by their actions leading up to party primaries and governorship elections in any state. There can be no exemption for Ondo State.
It should be remembered that based on his custom, he always transfers authority to the Deputy Governor before leaving on his yearly vacation, as is customary. He has done this once again by transmitting power to travel for medicinal reasons.
Mr. Aiyedatiwa added that when necessary, individuals find time to rest and take care of their health even if they are ill.
He gave the assurance that the State Executive Council and the Parliament would continue to work in harmony to further the State’s goals.
Therefore, we urge the good citizens of Ondo State and all friends of our dear Sunshine States to continue to pray for Mr. Governor’s rapid recovery so that he can return to work after his medical leave of absence and carry on with his wonderful work.
“I cannot help but urge the political elite to follow their ambition with good conscience in order to preserve the atmosphere of peace and unrestricted development that we have seen in our beautiful State over the past six years.
“On behalf of Mr. Governor, I thank the people of Ondo State for their prayers, loyalty, and support. I also urge everyone to be calm and obey the law because the state government is dedicated to distributing the benefits of good governance to everyone.
