The AIG stated that the police would take a tough stance against insurgency, terrorism, and other criminal acts within the zone.

“I will continue to ensure that we fight those who do not want peace.” Without security, no one can do anything.

“A group of miscreants who believe they have control will not have an impact on the state’s economy,” he said.

Echeng, who urged inhabitants to go about their usual lives, reaffirmed his men’s readiness to maintain peace and provide appropriate protection for the people of Imo, Abia, and Ebonyi States.

“We will continue to work with other state security agencies to ensure that those planning to enforce the sit-in order are dealt with.”

“Imo people deserve better than what they are currently receiving.”

“They deserve peace, adequate security, economic growth, and stability; and this we assure them,” Echeng said.

Earlier, Mr Mohammed Barde, the state commissioner of police, stated that the command had continued to confront IPOB/ESN in order to put an end to their activities.
