Anambra State, Commissioner of Police, Echeng Eworo Echeng earlier today hosted a leading Civil Society Organisation (CSO) on election observation, Yiaga Africa in Awka as he Vowed to protect all election stakeholders ahead of the polls.

The Governorship election is scheduled to hold on 6th November 2021 amidst security concern.

While admitting the peculiarity of the Anambra political and security atmosphere, the CP said the Force remains committed to protecting lives and properties in the state before, during and after the election.

He said, with the current situation in the state, there wouldnt have been a better time to collaborate with Yiaga Africa in a bid to build citizens confidence in the process.

He said, I am most happy to hear that there is a body like Yiaga Africa that is inspiring citizens confidence in the electoral process””.

He said, Police can only deploy and provide security but we need an organization that will encourage citizens to come out and vote saying That’s why this is a good time to collaborate with Yiaga Africa

He however urged citizens to be security conscious and reach out to security agencies in case of any security threat.

The Commissioner also hosted another CSO, Vote Not Fight Campaign to discuss collaborations on ensuring free and fair credible elections.
