As the Anambra gubernatorial election progresses, the candidate of Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, Dr. Obiora Okonkwo has expressed reservation on the delay in some polling Units, which he experienced when he voted in Ogidi town hall polling unit 009.

According to him, the voting took much longer than expected as the electorates find it difficult to vote during the process.

“Voting experience took much longer than expected, I had monitored feedbacks before voting and the information is indicative that election is holding but for some issues that should not be of any worry.

“We are worried about the delays in voting which takes up to 30 minutes. There are issues of machines not working, some places have not voted because of Biometric Voter Accreditation which took up between 30 to 40 minutes for me. So you can imagine what it will take for others and before you know it, it will be 3pm,” the ZLP candidate told Vanguard

Voting is ongoing in other Anambra Central senatorial communities such in Abatete, Alor, among other towns in Idemili south local government area where there are peaceful voting.

Meanwhile, the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) also lamented the failure of card readers at polling units.

SurgeZirc earlier reports the former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) couldn’t vote as a result of some technical difficulties experienced at his polling unit.

“I am in shock and this is all over the state. We are still being optimistic that it will work. For 20 minutes, the technician has been fiddling with the machine.

“Secondly, there is an inadequacy of INEC officials manning the polling units. There is also a security issue. There is no policeman here. And this is all over the state. I am a die-hard optimist. Soludo lamented that people who have been waiting till 7. am have not voted at around 1 pm, asking INEC to fix the technology for them to vote,” Soludo lamented at the polling unit,” Soludo lamented.
