APC Chairman’s resignation has sprung rumours that a crisis is building inside the ruling party, and Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has released a statement dismissing such rumours.
Addressing journalists following a closed-door meeting with APC governors, Uzodinma, who also serves as Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, stated that the party is unified and that all stakeholders are working together for the sake of the APC and the country in general.

Recognising the voluntary resignations of the National Chairman and National Secretary, Uzodimma thanked them for their contribution to the party and supported their decisions.
He also revealed that the party’s leadership had accepted their resignations and appointed an acting chairman and secretary.
Concerning the recent elimination of fuel subsidies and their impact on the country’s finances, Uzodimma assured that efforts were being made to use cash earned from the Federation account in a way that benefits citizens, labour, and the economy.
He also stated that initiatives were being taken to alleviate the current difficulty caused by the rise in food and petroleum product costs, as well as the overall expense of living.
To develop solutions, the subnational and federal administrations are working together.
When asked about the constitutionality of caretaker and acting committees, Uzodimma emphasised that the party was not in crisis.
He noted that the party won the previous election by a large margin and expressed optimism about its chances in the upcoming election.
In the absence of a substantive National Chairman, the Deputy National Chairman from the same zone takes over, and the same is true for the Deputy National Secretary.

Uzodimma informed her that the party’s succession plan was in place and working properly.
He emphasised that the conference ended with guarantees of party unity and determination to continue working for the APC’s advancement and prosperity.
