APC’s National leadership is dealing with the fallout from the untimely departure of its National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Chief Osita Chidoka, a member of the party’s youth wing, has stepped forward.
The Former Aviation Minister has urged the party to zone its National Chairman position to the South-East geopolitical zone.

He also asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rise above party politics and reinvigorate ‘the notion of Nigeria.’
Chidoka, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, praised a South-East National Chairman for the party as a step in the right way that would ensure inclusive representation in a statement headlined “APC Chairmanship: Time to Prioritise National Unity.”
He claimed that the departure of the party chairman provided an opportunity for the APC to reaffirm its national credentials and move away from its ignominious past of flagrant nepotism and callous insensitivity to national consensus.
“APC National Chairman and Secretary resigned today, paving the way for the Party to reorganise its leadership,” the statement said in part.
I am not a member of the APC and should not normally comment on its internal affairs, but as the present ruling party, its actions have severe ramifications for national unity and well-being.
“The APC’s top six positions are now zoned as follows: President (SW), Vice President (NE), Senate President (SS), Speaker (NW), Secretary to Government (NC), and Party Chairman (?).
“By virtue of their statutory positions, these six positions are at the heart of government and governance.”
As negotiations on Ministerial candidates, Board Appointments, and government policy directions begin, these six offices will provide critical input to the government’s process and progress.

“As a Nigerian, patriot, student of our nation’s history, and supporter of deliberate national rebirth, I recommend that the APC zone the National Chairmanship to the East to ensure inclusive representation.”
“By zoning the position of National Chairman to the Southeast, the APC can reaffirm its national credentials and depart from its ignominious past of naked nepotism and gross insensitivity to our national consensus.”
