In its previous proposals, it had initially offered £75 million ($95m), followed by £90 million ($114m) which were all rejected.

Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian reported that the most recent bid was rejected due to West Ham’s dissatisfaction with the payment structure.

Arsenal proposed to make an initial payment of £100m and subsequently, an extra £5m in add-ons.

However, Steinberg added that talks were still ongoing as the offer has not been outrightly turned down.

The news that Manchester City has pulled out from the race for Declan Rice also comes as a big push for the Gunners.

As reported by The Athletic, City are not willing to match or improve on Arsenal’s latest offer. It added that the club will circle in on alternative targets.

If the 24-year-old player leaves for Arsenal at the current fee, it will be a record amount for a British player in the Premier League.

If the deal gets secured, it will make Rice the most expensive player in British football history.

Rice’s contract at the London stadium is meant to expire in a year, but with an option for the club to make a one-year extension deal.

Despite the rejected offers, however, the club chairman David Sullivan had said the midfielder had played his last game for the Hammers and was set to leave.
