Peter Obi’s application seeking to question (INEC) on the technology used to conduct the February 25th general elections was denied by Court.
The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) in Abuja has rejected an application filed by Labour Party (LP) candidate Peter Obi seeking permission to question the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the technology used to conduct the February 25th general elections.

According to Sources, Peter Obi asked the tribunal in his motion to compel INEC to answer 12 critical questions he stated on an interrogatory he filed on May 22. The former Anambra State governor wants INEC to tell the court, among other things, when the purportedly upgraded technological system it deployed for the elections was tested for functionality.
He also asked the court to force INEC to provide answers to the following questions: “Who created/deployed the four (4) Applications Patches/Updates to fix the HTTP 500 error that prevented the e-transmission of the Presidential election results on February 25th, 2023?”
What was the exact time of the technical glitch that prevented the e-transmission of the Presidential election results on February 25th, 2023? “When were the technological flaws fixed or repaired? What percentage of the Presidential election results were uploaded to the I-Rev on February 25th, 2023?”
What proportion of the Presidential election outcome was 2023? What percentage of the Presidential election result was uploaded on the I-Rev at the time of the Presidential election result declaration on March 1st, 2023?
If the Presidential Election was held concurrently with the National Assembly Elections on the same day and time, using the same technological devices, why were there only glitches in the Presidential Election?

However, all Respondents (INEC, APC, Bola Tinubu, and Kashim Shettima) urged the court to dismiss the motion due to a lack of competence. On Saturday, a five-member panel chaired by Justice Haruna Tsammani dismissed the application on the grounds that it was filed outside the pre-hearing period.
Meanwhile, the panel assigned Obi Meanwhile, the tribunal authorized Obi and the LP to play in open court, based on two video recordings he submitted as proof.
