Burna Boy isn’t slowing down his vibes as the Nigerian star has continued bagging more accolades in the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category of the BET Awards.

Burna who has won the award three times in a row couldn’t contain his joy after he was named the winner at the 2021 BET Awards on Sunday, June 27, at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The Afrobeat superstar, Burner, 29, downed Nigeria’s Wizkid, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, and other international artists to scoop the award.

In previous years, Burner collected his awards in absentia, but this time, he was present at the ceremony and received the award himself.

Speaking to cameras while receiving his award, Burna said, “I made it this time to collect my award myself.

“I want to teach you guys a little bit about where you are all really from,” he said with his mum standing beside him before urging them to speak a phrase in Pidgin English.

Burna also appeared on a short video clip on BET Africa’s Instagram account where he said, “Three-peat, that’s my third one, back to back,”

Burna Boy has indeed dominated this category following his years of great songs and performances, plus his released three critically acclaimed albums back-to-back, like ‘Outside’ in 2018 before he won in 2019, ‘African Giant’ in 2019, he won it in 2020.

That’s not all, Burna Boy also brought home Grammy Award recently and has got a nomination.
