While the English Premier League announced it had no new cases from the latest round of testing, it was a different outcome in England’s second division. The Championship has confirmed that ten individuals tested positive for Coronavirus after a series of tests were carried out on Thursday and Friday.
The English Football League made this announcement after 1,058 tests were conducted from Thursday through Friday.

A statement released by the Second Division read: “Following the latest round of COVID-19 testing, the EFL can confirm that 1,058 players and club staff from the 24 Championship clubs were tested over the course of Thursday 28 May and Friday 29 May, with 10 individuals testing positive from eight clubs.”
“Those players or club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate in line with the guidelines provided by the EFL and only those who have tested negative would be granted access to the training ground’s facilities.”

The English Football League also said it recorded seven positive tests from three clubs in League Two after 135 tests have been carried out so far.
The Championship after being suspended since March is reportedly hoping to restart next month with Leeds United sitting at the top of the table just one point above second-placed West Brom United.
