BREAKING : Soludo Declared Winner Of Anambra Governorship Election

Prof. Charles Soludo of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has won 18 of the 20 Local Government election results so far announced by INEC.

Soludo, on Sunday opened and maintained the lead in the Anambra State governorship election.

The former CBN governor lost Ogbaru Local Government Area to PDP and Nnewi North LGA to YPP.

Other top contenders in the election are Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Senator Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressive Party (YPP).

The results from the 20 LGAs showed that Soludo polled a total of 103,946 votes, more than twice that of his closest opponent, PDP’s Valentine Ozigbo who got 51,322 votes.

APC’s Andy Uba secured the third-highest votes – 42,942, while YPP’s Ifeanyi Ubah got 20,917.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Anambra Governorship Election Inconclusive.

The Returning Officer for the Anambra State governorship election, Professor Florence Obi made the declaration at INEC head office in Awka on Sunday night.

After the the electoral umpire announced the election results in 20 of 21 local governments in the State.

Professor Obi said the failure to conduct election in Ihiala Local Government on election day has made it impossible to reach a definite conclusion under the Electoral Act on the result of the election.

Obi declared that the election process remains suspended until after a supplementary election is held in all polling units of Ihiala Local Government.

The supplementary polls will hold in 326 polling units in Ihiala on Tuesday 9th of November, 2021.
