The club endured through an unpleasant campaign last season as it failed to land even a silverware and also missed out on the Champion League.
Their weakened midfield has been identified as one of the main leaks by onlookers, with Klopp swiftly containing the problem this summer by securing Brighton star, Alexis Mac Allister.
However, additional reinforcements will be needed amid reports that youngsters Rhys Williams and Fabio Carvalho are heading out on loan.
This takes the number of confirmed Anfield out-bound transfers to six since the end of the season. And Hungary captain Szoboszlai has been marked as the club’s next key target.
Klopp can build his hopes on Szoboszlai’s 2020 comment about him when he was still playing his trade with Red Bull Salzburg.
At the time, Liverpool was the holder of the Champions League and the club’s German manager was headed towards an eventual Premier League title.
“I really like Klopp,” he had said. “The way he can inspire his players is unbelievable. Even when they have nothing, they can stand up and his players can achieve anything.
“For me, he is the best manager in the world,” he added.
The 22-year-old Hungarian footballer made 46 appearances in all matches for his current club last season, securing 10 goals.
His form resulted in speculations that Newcastle United were planning a bid, but no moves were made.
Meetings have been held between club representatives, EM Sports Management, and Liverpool bosses.
But there’s a potential setback surrounding his release clause of £60 million. This is amid confusion over whether the caveat will terminate by June 30 or later during the summer.
Furthermore, RB Leipzig, who came third in the Bundesliga table last season, are yet to make their valuation of the player without disclosing a release clause.
Should he leave them according to reports from the Liverpool Echo, the German outfit would also be in line to collect up to 20% of any sell-on fee.

Carvalho is also set to move in the opposite direction, although that deal is not part of any negotiations for Szoboszlai.
