Election Victory: I Look Forward To Work With You, Buhari Tells Soludo

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured the newly elected governor of Anambra, Professor Charles Soludo, of his readiness to work with him for the peace, security and development of the state and the country at large.

Buhari made this known in a statement signed Wednesday, by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

While congratulating the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Buhari said; “I congratulate Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) — and a member of the Presidential Economic Advisory Committee (PEAC) — on his victory in the Anambra State gubernatorial election.

“I commend the security agencies for their determination to ensure that the election went on as smoothly as possible, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the successful conclusion of the exercise, despite the initial challenges encountered.

“I enjoin Prof Soludo to rally other stakeholders to tackle the enormous challenges confronting Anambra State and the Southeast in general.

“I look forward to working with him for the peace, security and development of Anambra State and the entire country.”

SurgeZirc NG reports the APGA governorship candidate polled 112,229 votes to lead Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), who secure 53, 807 votes to emerge second.

While Andy Uba of the All Progressive Congress(APC), scored 43,285 votes to emerge third.

Also, Ifeanyi Uba of the Young Progressive Party came fourth with 21, 261 votes.

Charles Soludo who won 19 of the 21 Local Government declared by INEC, lost in Ogbaru to PDP and Nnewi North to YPP.
