According to widespread reports, the English Premier League season will resume on June 17, 2020, with Manchester City hosting Arsenal and Aston Villa taking on Sheffield United.

These Wednesday fixtures are the first of the 92 remaining games left in the season that had been interrupted by the Coronavirus pandemic and represent outstanding games for the four teams involved.

Once completed, each of the 20 Premier League Clubs would have played 29 games. Thereafter, a full round of matches will then take place the following weekend, as Liverpool currently with a 25-point lead at the top of the league table aims to secure their first top-flight title in 30 years.

No matches have been played in the Premier League since March 9 due to the outbreak of the pandemic, which suspended sporting activities globally.

After 2,752 tests conducted across the English Premier League, a total of 12 people spread across 3 clubs have tested positive for the Coronavirus.

However, with teams resuming contact training this week after a shareholders meeting on Thursday, the Premier League decided to pick a resumption date for the competition.
