Former Senator representing Kaduna State, Shehu Sani has said he and hundreds of passengers boarding Abuja-Kaduna Train miraculously escaped after attack by bandits on Thursday Morning, as Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) immediately suspend train service.
The Senator posted this on his Facebook page, saying the train ran over explosive reportedly planted by bandits.
He took to his Facebook page to report that a similar incident had happened about 24 hours before then saying bandits attacked the kaduna-adbuja train after planting explosives that damaged the rail track and shattered the windshield of the train engine. ”

According to Sani, “they also opened fire, targeting the driver and the tank”. He said the attack happened between Dutse and Rijana stations saying the driver struggled to move towards Kaduna Rigasa Station.
The NRC said it was suspending the service for the safety of passengers as efforts are in places to restore service saying, further information would follow immediately service is restored.
