Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, has bagged award of Excellence on Youth Development at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
This was disclosed by the Director General, Press and Media Affairs to the governor, Mamman Mohammed, on Wednesday in Damaturu.
According to the statement, the award was presented to governor Buni by the Young Nigerian Innovators in diaspora, for his contributions to youth development and talent hunt.
Also, massive creativity in Information Communication Technology, attracting international partners and investors were displayed at the exhibition, by the Team Yobe contingent to Dubai expo, led by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on ICT, Dr. Adam K. Mohammed.
The investors who showed interest in the talents of Team Yobe, pledged to work towards investing in, and partnering with the state.
VELVOT, a Dubai-based ICT company, pledged to train 100 Yobe youth in various ICT courses.
The statement also qouted the SSA, Dr. Adam saying that the company pledged to sponsor three best performing students to Dubai for further studies.
He described the award as “well deserved, considering the support Governor Buni has accorded the youth and ICT development in Yobe state.
“We admire his dedication to youth development in Yobe state. The ICT sector in the state is continually growing due to his continued support, interest and involvement,” the SSA stated.
