Hadi Sirika Drops Bombshell: House Aviation Committee Chair Sought 5% Bribe.
Former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika charges Hon. Nnolim Nnaji of soliciting 5% stake in Nigeria Air. Sirika believes that Nnaji’s inability to get the shares is the source of his ongoing criticism of the airline. The claims were made live on Arise TV during a live program, with Sirika implying fraudulent activity in the project.

Sen. Hadi Sirika, the immediate previous Minister of Aviation, has accused the Chairman of the House Committee on Aviation, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, of soliciting 5% stakes in the contentious Nigeria Air project.
Sirika claimed Nnaji asked for the 5% stake for “himself and his people,” while Nnaji claimed he was referred to the shareholders. Speaking during a live broadcast on Arise TV on Sunday, Sirika claimed that Nnaji’s failure to get the 5% stake in the Nigeria Air project was to blame for his ongoing criticism of the airline, and he branded the entire process as a hoax.
Nnaji had dubbed the entire project a sham and directed security services to conduct a probe into the failed airline, which performed the static demonstration at Abuja Airport on May 26, 2023.
He stated, “You know, I record everything I do anyway, and I have it very clear.” I’ll repeat what I said to him in private simply to make him feel better. He requested that I give him 5% of the company. Give him 5 shares of Nigeria Air to transport him and his people, and I informed him privately that 5% belongs to the owners, who I feel will be happy to sell him if he has the money.

“So, it’s not me giving it; I wasn’t involved in the bidding process.” I am confident they would have set aside 5% of the stock for him and his associates. So he should approach them and obtain the 5% shares he requires. “I can assure you that the Federal Government’s 5% stake will be listed on the market at some point.” So he should save his money and buy for himself and his people.
Sirika exonerated other committee members at the Chairman’s request when asked if Nnaji and the Committee members were asked to be bribed. “To be fair, he did not mention other members.” He stated his desire for himself and his people. His people may be his family, members, or leadership, but I had no idea what he meant when he stated “he and his people.”
