The sexual abuse lawsuit against Nollywood star Olarewaju James, also known as Baba Ijesha, continued in court today, with a tape of the victim telling about the incident.
The court aired a tape recording of the claimed victim’s interview with child rights lawyer Bisi Ajayi Kayode during the trial in Lagos today, October 20.
The accused victim, who is underaged described how Baba Ijesha allegedly molested her seven years ago when she was just seven years old, and how he tried again recently after she reached fourteen in a video aired in court.
She claimed that Baba Ijesha came to her guardian, comedienne Oluwadamilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess’ house, and drew out his penis before inviting her to sit on his lap.
She alleged she sat on his lap till she felt something moist on her body because she was absorbed in the cartoon she was watching on television.
In a video aired in court, she said: “I didn’t make a sound after seeing his private part. I sat on his laps myself and removed my pant because of my concentration on the cartoon I was watching.”
Using a doll to demonstrate how she sat on Baba Ijesha’s lap, the girl said: “I sat in front of the television trying to watch cartoon.
“Baba Ijesha told me to come and sit on his lap and so I did. Then he removed his private part and told me to sit on him.”
She walked into the bathroom after feeling something moist and cleaning herself up with a towel. She claimed Baba Ijesha remained silent after that.
The next day, she alleged, Baba Ijesha reappeared and penetrated her with a key.
“He parked his car away from his house and that was where he inserted his car key into my private part while trying to kiss me,” she alleged.
“When he inserted the car key, I felt some type of way.”
The girl then displayed how the car key allegedly penetrated her.
On April 17, 2021, she alerted her mother about the incident, and on April 19, 2021, CCTV was set up to gather evidence so that Baba Ijesha could be charged in court.
