In a significant development, Tottenham Hotspur has granted Hugo Lloris permission to abstain from their pre-season tour of Australia and Asia.
The purpose behind this decision is to facilitate Lloris in finalizing a transfer away from the club.

The club statement read: “French GK has been granted permission not to travel in order to explore prospective transfer opportunities.”
With only one year remaining on his contract, it was widely expected that the Spurs captain would seek a move during this summer transfer window.
The confirmation of his departure is now almost certain with the announcement made on Friday.
While the exact destination for Lloris is yet to be determined, Tottenham has already secured the services of goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli as a potential replacement.

The team has now assembled a 28-player squad for the upcoming pre-season tour.
The tour will commence with a friendly match against West Ham in Perth on Tuesday, followed by games against Leicester and Singapore’s Lion City Sailors.
Tanguy Ndombele, along with recent loanees Giovani Lo Celso, Djed Spence, Destiny Udogie, and Joe Rodon, has made it onto the squad.
This indicates their continued presence in the plans of manager Ange Postecoglou.
Despite speculation surrounding possible moves, Davinson Sanchez and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are also included in the squad.
However, several injured players will remain in north London to concentrate on their fitness, including Rodrigo Bentancur, Fraser Forster, Bryan Gil, Troy Parrott, and Ryan Sessegnon, who are nursing knee, back, groin, and hamstring injuries, respectively.
Below is the complete Tottenham pre-season tour squad:
Goalkeepers: Guglielmo Vicario, Brandon Austin, Josh Keeley, Alfie Whiteman.
Defenders: Cristian Romero, Ivan Perisic, Ben Davies, Eric Dier, Pedro Porro, Sergio Reguilon, Emerson Royal, Davinson Sanchez, Djed Spence, Japhet Tanganga, Destiny Udogie, Joe Rodon.
